Bits from the book:-
No matter where you are or what level of consciousness you think you are on. If your life feels in transition, if you are struggling through a relationship, employment, health issues, or just changes in your life, you are still perfect. It's absolutely where you are supposed to be.
What can block you from that success is control issues involving time and needing to prove something: and your dependence or need to prove to others that you are okay.
Negative emotions and reactions are excuses to behave a certain way, we all have them. And they are all ego - being, old, unconscious habits of thinking and reacting. And as such can be released as you choose to stop using them as a crutch, and take responsibility for your own life's creations.
All of the excuses to follow in this book can show you what
you don't want and therefore wake you up to what you do want.
Examples:-
Aggression: Aggression, acting tough, and having a short fuse is transparent in its obvious need to have a place to hide from feelings. There is nothing tough about aggression it ruins friendships, marriages and spoils the other person's day. Aggression is not entertaining. Aggression does not have true strength, it's hollow and obvious. There is real strength in patience, non-reaction and inner peace.
Bored: What are you going to do about that, is it time to get off the couch and re-engage your energy?
Gossip: Is vile and sends the other person and yourself negative energy. It has nothing to do with balance.
Impulsive: Fear and thinking you will run out of time and opportunities, and you have made mistakes and don't want to make any more. You need to take the time to plan and see things as they really are. Being impulsive is to close your eyes to the outcome of your actions. Time is a fear based illusion.
Lost: Time for change, move on and create a new life. Stimulate your energy with change. Let go of the past there is nothing there for you.
Nonconforming: It's good to be an original as long as you don't expect others to pick up the slack, as in being responsible for your health, wellbeing or income.
Selfish: Oh it's all about me. Trust me no one wants to know,
if a person constantly praises themselves, uses others for their own
needs and gives nothing back it gets old fast. A very good way to
end up all alone: You need to give to get, and to create a balanced
happy life. Selfish acts may give a momentary fulfillment but they
feel empty quickly. Behind empty selfish using is loneliness and emptiness.
